The International Outreach Committee was founded to help facilitate educational opportunities in countries lacking organized access to farrier education.
Similar to our educational system in the United States, our project model seeks to work with existing professional farriers looking to elevate their skillsets and pursue AFA Certification.
Hoof care is essential to the health and wellbeing of the horse. Many countries we work in have a large working equid population that is underserved due to the lack of trained farriers. While yearly veterinary clinics can provide castrations and dental procedures with lasting effects, the effects of hoof care need to be provided year-round. By contributing to the education of professional farriers and expanding opportunities in-country, we can have a lasting effect on the health of working equids. This translates into an improved quality of life for the people that depend on them.
