About Carl Via
Carl Via, CJF, is a Virginia-based farrier, seventh-generation farmer, and respected industry leader whose dedication to the craft has earned him recognition on both national and international stages. A 2019 WCB National Champion and multi-year member of the World Championship Blacksmiths Team, Carl has consistently proven himself with six consecutive team qualifications and seven straight Top 10 finishes. Beyond competition, he currently serves as a Certification Instructor and has been an AFA Tester since 2010, all while traveling nationwide to teach clinics and judge contests. Whether he’s shoeing, forging, or mentoring the next generation, Carl continues to make a lasting impact on the farrier profession.
